Elsie Initiative Fund Project KAIPTC – WYPSI Drives Gender Equality In Ghana Armed Forces With New Gender Policy

As part of its technical support for Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) under the Elsie Initiative, the KAIPTC through its Women, Youth, Peace and Security Institute (WYPSI) successfully facilitated the development of the first-ever GAF Gender Policy. This policy was launched on March 15, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative represents a significant milestone in promoting gender equality and inclusivity within Ghana’s Armed Forces.

The policy’s development demonstrates a commitment to fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, where all individuals, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute to national security efforts.  By integrating gender perspectives into military operations, training, and institutional practices, the Ghana Armed Forces are positioning themselves for enhanced effectiveness and resilience. This collaborative effort exemplifies the importance of partnership in driving positive change and advancing gender equality within the military

As we celebrate this milestone, we eagerly anticipate the transformative impact of the Ghana Armed Forces Gender Policy in fostering a culture of respect, equality, and excellence within the armed forces.
