DARIPS provides platforms for dialogue, knowledge exchange and engagement between researchers, policymakers, practitioners and other stakeholders on contemporary peace and security issues. The Department facilitates the exchange of research, expertise and perspectives to promote informed policy and strengthen the connection between research, policy and practice.
Reflections on Security Symposium
The Reflections on Security Symposium provides a platform for critical discussion and exchange on contemporary peace and security issues. These quarterly symposia bring together researchers, policymakers, practitioners and other experts to examine emerging trends, challenges and policy responses in Africa and beyond.
Through expert presentations and interactive discussions, the symposium seeks to connect research and practice while encouraging informed debate on issues relevant to peace and security.
Webinars
DARIPS webinars provide a platform for policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and the dissemination of research findings and expertise. The Department organises webinars at least quarterly, with additional sessions convened in response to emerging issues and relevant research outputs.
Webinars bring together KAIPTC researchers, practitioners and external experts to engage with topical peace and security issues. Sessions typically run for approximately two hours and are designed to facilitate accessible, substantive and policy-relevant discussions.

The Unpacking Peace Podcast Series
Unpacking Peace is a podcast series that brings the expertise and intellectual resources of KAIPTC into accessible and engaging conversations on peace, security and related issues.
The series provides an alternative and complementary avenue for knowledge dissemination, allowing research findings, expert perspectives and emerging issues to be explored in a conversational format. Episodes feature KAIPTC experts and invited guests discussing developments and challenges relevant to African peace and security.
The podcast seeks to make research and expert knowledge accessible to policymakers, practitioners, researchers, students and the wider public, while maintaining the analytical rigour and practical relevance associated with KAIPTC's work.
