Accra, 12th March 2018: The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), has welcomed 31 Police Officers to the opening ceremony of the 2018 Security Sector Reform Course (SSR). The course targets middle level Police Officers and practitioners who out the reform duties in post-conflict reconstruction phase of peacebuilding.
The objective of the course is to equip participants with introductory knowledge on the concepts of peace and security in the African context; equip them to demonstrate competence in developing their role in peace building in post conflict environment, among others.
Accra, 13th March 2018: The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) has hosted a three-day dialogue and experience sharing workshop for selected elected representatives of the Ghanaian and Nigerian Parliaments.
The workshop was to enable the Honourable Members of the National Assembly of Nigeria and the Parliament of Ghana to exchange best practices on parliamentary oversight of the security sector. Dubbed, “Exchange of Good Practices on Legislative Oversight”, the workshop was jointly organised by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF), and the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC).
Accra, March 12th 2018: With a fundamental obligation of generating effective and sustainable capacities within the African and ECOWAS Peace and Security architecture as well as building capacities to implement AU and UN peacekeeping and peacebuilding mandates, the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), has welcomed a new batch of participants for the Joint Campaign Planning Course.
