Undergraduate Programme Planning Meeting

KAIPTC’S Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research (FAAR) held a pivotal meeting in May 2024 to kick-start the development of undergraduate programmes. The three-day meeting brought together faculty members and external experts to discuss the proposed degree programmes in detail.

The primary goal of the meeting was to explore the various aspects of the undergraduate program, including its conceptualization, objectives, potential offerings, accreditation requirements, infrastructural needs, staffing, and financial sustainability.

The Commandant, Major General Richard Addo Gyane, attended the meeting and expressed Management’s strong support for the initiative. He reaffirmed KAIPTC’s commitment to expanding its academic offerings and ensuring their effectiveness and profitability. The meeting addressed 12 key objectives, grouped into the following broad themes:

  1. Considerations in Conceptualising Commencing;
  2. Short, Medium and Long-Term Objectives;
  3. Potential Programme Offerings;
  4. National Accreditation Requirements;
  5. Infrastructural and Staffing Needs; and
  6. Programme Profitability and Sustainability.

The successful outcome of this meeting marks a significant step forward in KAIPTC’s efforts to offer undergraduate education, expanding its role in training and educating the next generation of peacekeeping professionals.

Charter Application Institutional Assessment Visit

A team from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) visited the Centre on 20May 2024 and met with the Executive Management Committee, Teaching Staff, Non -teaching staff and students for a Charter Application Evaluation Process.

The evaluation focused on:

  • Internal Quality Assurance: Assessing the effectiveness of the Centre’s internal quality assurance mechanisms and its commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Institutional Growth:  Examining KAIPTC’s strategies for growth and ongoing developments.

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Academic Affairs and Research, Dr. Kweku Danso presented an overview of the Centre’s academic programs and its future plans.

The GTEC team’s evaluation will provide valuable insights to inform the Commission’s oversight and support of KAIPTC’s academic endeavors.
