Former Ghanaian Parliamentarians Equipped with Election Observation Skills

The Centre concluded its specialized Election Observation Training for selected former Members of the Ghana’s Parliament, marking another stride in the Centre’s ongoing mission to bolster democratic governance and peace across Africa.

The training program, offered as part of KAIPTC’s commercialized course portfolio, was specifically designed to equip participants with the essential tools and knowledge required to promote credible, peaceful, and transparent elections throughout the continent.

The course sought to leverage their extensive political and legislative experience, redirecting it toward a crucial new role in election integrity.

The curriculum provided participants with practical skills in election observation, including methodologies for monitoring electoral processes, identifying potential irregularities, and accurately reporting findings.

The commercialized courses are part of a KAIPTC strategy to offer specialized, market-driven training courses to enhance the capacity of a wide range of actors from security personnel and government officials to civil society organizations and now, former political leaders in managing peace and security challenges.

The successful completion of this course prepares the former parliamentarians to play a key role in ensuring transparent and fair electoral processes, thereby supporting stability in Ghana and beyond.
