Hosted by the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS), the annual forum convenes high-level policymakers, researchers, and security experts to examine Africa’s agenda on peace and security issues. This year’s theme, “Africa Amid Global Uncertainties,” will explore how shifting global dynamics are influencing Africa’s security frameworks, strategic responses, and regional integration.

Air Commodore David Anetey Akrong, Acting Commandant of KAIPTC, will lead a delegation from KAIPTC to the Conference. He will be a speaker in a plenary session titled “From Vision to Capacity: Rethinking the African Defense Policies,” scheduled for Thursday, June 19 at 14:00 to 18:00. He will be joined by distinguished panelists from Nigeria’s National Counter Terrorism Centre, the South African National Assembly, and India’s Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses. The session will examine how African states can enforce  defense policies to better respond to evolving threats.

The Acting Commandant will also participate in a special broadcast segment focusing on “Securing Tomorrow: New Directions in African Defense Policy.” The segment will feature perspectives on new approaches with regard to Africa’s defense priorities and will be hosted at the Policy Center’s studio on June 19 at 6:00 p.m.
