KAIPTC Rolls Out Maiden Corporate Security Officers Course to Bolster Organisational Resilience

The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) has introduced its flagship Corporate Security Officers Course, a specialised training programme designed to strengthen the capacity of security professionals in today’s complex corporate environment.

The maiden edition drew 21 participants from a cross-section of Ghanaian companies, reflecting the growing recognition of the vital role corporate security plays in safeguarding people, assets, information, and reputation. The course focused on key areas such as workplace violence prevention, emergency preparedness, risk management, and business continuity.

The Deputy Commandant of KAIPTC, Brigadier General Zibrim Ayorrogo, said at the opening of the training that the course represents a bold step in bridging critical skills gaps within the corporate security landscape. He emphasized that inadequate training and low security awareness have exacerbated vulnerabilities across businesses, making structured professional development essential.

“This course is more than an academic exercise—it is a collaborative platform where professionals share experiences, build networks, and explore innovative approaches to security management,” he stated.

He further highlighted the broader vision of KAIPTC:

“Seeking knowledge is key for sustainable peace and security. As we strive for a peaceful, integrated, and prosperous Africa, it is imperative that organisations operate in secure environments that allow their people to thrive and contribute fully.”

Participants said the programme is a timely response to the increasingly complex threat landscape and is expected to set a benchmark for professional corporate security training in Ghana and beyond.
