KAIPTC Expresses Condolences to Switzerland Following Tragic Fire Incident

Accra, Ghana – January 2, 2026

The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) has expressed its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Switzerland following a devastating fire incident on New Year’s Day that resulted in the loss of lives.

In a message of solidarity, the Centre conveyed its profound sympathy to the families and communities affected by the tragedy, noting the deep sense of sorrow such sudden losses bring.

“As an institution committed to the promotion of peace, human security, and the protection of human life, KAIPTC shares in the grief of the Swiss people during this difficult time,” the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal David Anetey Akrong, said.

Air Vice Marshal Akrong highlighted Switzerland’s longstanding partnership with KAIPTC and its continued support for initiatives that advance peace, security, and international cooperation.
