Training on Elections Observation and Analysis
The All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), in partnership with the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) and the African Union Commission (AUC) is pleased to invite applications for a specialized training on Elections Observation and Analysis.
This is a self-funded training programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of participants in effective election observation, analysis of data and credible reporting, thereby contributing to more transparent and accountable electoral processes across Africa.
Format
The training will be delivered in two phases: virtual and in person.
The Online phase will be self-paced and will run for three weeks. The in-person session will be held in Addis Ababa for five (5) days .
Phase 1: Online Training (Self-paced)
- Dates: 9 – 27 March 2026
- Mode: Online (self-paced)
- Fees: USD 50
Phase 2: In-person Training
- Duration: 5 days
- Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Dates: 27 April- 1 May 2026
- Fees: Participants to cover their own flights, visa costs and accommodation
Participation in the in-person training will be based on successful completion of the online phase.

About the programme:
The training is under the AACC project “Strengthening evidence-based advocacy for peace, human rights, migration, and social justice in Africa, funded by Bread for the World. This training builds on the foundational knowledge introduced during the webinar on Election Monitoring and Observation held on 27November 2025 which was co-organized with KAIPTC and the African Union Commission African Governance Architecture – African Peace and Security Architecture (AGA-APSA).
Expected Outcomes:
This training will provide AACC constituency members with knowledge and skills:
- To understand and apply the principles and legal frameworks for credible election observation.
- To produce credible, evidence-based reports on electoral processes.
- To utilize their documentation and analysis to advocate for electoral transparency and accountability.
