Introduction/Background

The IT Audit & Digital Forensics (for Non-IT Professionals) programme is designed to equip professionals with non-technical backgrounds with the practical skills required to understand IT audit processes and audit IT systems, ensuring strong governance, risk management, and compliance controls. Participants will learn to assess applications, systems, and networks, identify security gaps, and implement appropriate controls to address these challenges. The course covers essential IT components, introduces key concepts, and offers hands-on experience with digital forensic tools for investigating system breaches. By the end of the programme, participants will have the knowledge and capacity to review IT audit reports, make informed management decisions, and ensure IT systems operate in compliance with audit standards.

Through a balanced blend of conceptual grounding and real-world case studies, participants will gain a deep understanding of how IT audits safeguard systems, how forensic investigations uphold organisational integrity, and how both functions reinforce regulatory compliance and stakeholder trust. They will be equipped to interpret IT audit findings, comprehend forensic processes, and contribute effectively to investigations and risk management initiatives.
