HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS TRAINING (HEAT) COURSE 2027

Course Fee:

• All expenses are covered by KAIPTC through the external partners (German Government).
• Tuition, air travel to and from the nearest international airport, and food and accommodation will be provided by KAIPTC. However, participants must cover the costs of their private travel and health insurance, and are responsible for their own visa application fees.

Terms and Conditions:

• Participants must uphold KAIPTC values throughout their stay at KAIPTC and comply with Ghanaian laws.
• The Selection Committee will prioritise applications from the ECOWAS region, from UN/AU/ECOWAS missions, and from those who have not attended sponsored courses at KAIPTC in the past two years
• •    Participants who are selected but unable to attend the course must notify the Course Director in writing at the earliest opportunity. Participants who withdraw or fail to attend less than 14 days before the course start date may be required to reimburse KAIPTC for any non-recoverable flight ticket costs incurred on their behalf. Non-payment may result in the participant and/or their sponsoring institution being excluded from consideration for future KAIPTC courses.
• The course will be conducted entirely in English. There will be no translation into other languages
• •    All participants must travel with travel and medical insurance that remains valid for two weeks after the course end date. The KAIPTC and the German Government do not accept responsibility for medical treatment, travel, or other insurance.
• Participants should note that Ghana requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for entry.
• This course includes a strenuous field exercise and is unsuitable for pregnant women or for individuals with certain medical conditions or blood pressure problems.
• •    Participants will not receive any Daily Subsistence Allowance.
• By submitting an application, applicants consent to the collection, processing and storage of the personal data provided in the application form — including, but not limited to, name, rank, date of birth, nationality, passport details, employer and contact information — for the sole purpose of administering the selection process, organising travel and visa arrangements, and conducting the course. KAIPTC may share applicant data with external parties. KAIPTC will not disclose personal data to any third party for purposes unrelated to the course without the applicant's prior consent. KAIPTC will retain applicant data for up to three years after the conclusion of the course for course evaluation, follow-up and alumni engagement. Applicants may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting KAIPTC; a request made before or during the course may affect the applicant's ability to participate. KAIPTC endeavours to protect all personal data in its custody through appropriate administrative measures. However, applicants are advised that KAIPTC does not currently operate under a formally codified data protection policy, and the level of protection may differ from the standards applicable in the applicant's home jurisdiction.
