Course Overview

This useful tool, however, has the capabilities to expose users and organisations to cyber-attacks resulting in loss or damage of confidential personal or organisational data and financial loss.

The COVID-19 pandemic has also accelerated technological adoption, while exposing cyber vulnerabilities and unpreparedness of organisations to deal with these vulnerabilities. According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2021, cyber risks continue ranking among global risks as cybercriminals continue to deploy sophisticated techniques to exploit digital platforms of institutions leading to financial and reputational damage.

The Certificate in Cyber Security Training is designed to equip participants on emerging trends of cybercrime, the domain of cyber security and the impact of cyber security threats on institutions and national security at large. Various countermeasures on how to secure data and precautions that organisations can take to minimise losses and safeguard the IT environment will be addressed. The course will also introduce participants to cyber security governance mechanisms and best practices.
