Abstract: Since the last decade of the 20th Century, the continent of Africa has increasingly emerged a theatre of terrorist activities. Despite the growing incidents of terrorism in Africa, there exists the absence of an update continent-wide book that significantly addresses the scourge of terrorism especially in the specific countries of concern throughout the continent. This chapter on Côte d’Ivoire seeks to interrogate the scourge of terrorism with emphasis on the historical and socio-political dynamics with a view to making informed prognosis for the West Africa and the Sahel. This is consistent with the emphasis on Silencing the Guns by 2020 within the African Union Agenda 2063. This chapter examines the evolution, nature and drivers of terrorism including the emerging trend of terrorism across Cote d’Ivoire.
