Purposes

To develop, institutionalise and manage the Centre’s platform to harness financial resources from the Centre’s product and service lines as well as its engagement with relevant stakeholders such as Civil Society Organizations, the private sector, alumni, etc. To drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

Main Duties

  1. Plan, develop and oversee the overall business development strategy;
  2. Develop growth strategies and plans for the Centre;
  3. Manage, retain and build relationships with existing and new clients;
  4. Writing winning business proposals and negotiate with stakeholders;
  5. Research business opportunities and viable income streams for the Centre;
  6. Develop goals for business growth and ensure they are met;
  7. Ensure KAIPTC achieves the yearly agreed revenue including donor inflows, interest on endowment fund investments, alumni contributions, sale of executive training programmes to private, public and not-for-profit institutions and individuals in Ghana, West Africa; Africa and the rest of the world; sale of Masters & PhD courses;
  8. Develop a business prospecting plan for KAIPTC;
  9. Look for consultancy opportunities for the KAIPTC;
  10. Look for opportunities to sell more of KAIPTC’s products and services;
  11. Meet and exceed sales and revenue mobilisation target set for the BDU;
  12. Build strong relationships with industry professionals, competitors, vendors and other personnel;
  13. Manage and train the business development team;
  14. Manage and supervise BDU staff;
  15. Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor within scope and content of the job.

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification/Experience

  • Master’s Degree in marketing, business development or related discipline from an accredited institution;
  • Professional certification in marketing is required;
  • At least 12-15 years working experience, at least five of which should have been in a similar role at the management level in a nonprofit organisation;
  • Experience in leading business development team is required;
  • Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
