Biographie:
AVM Christian Edem Kobla Dovlo was born on 16th May, 1950 in Kumasi. He attended Mawuli School from 1962 to 1969 for both his ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels. He entered the University of Ghana in 1969 and graduated in 1972 with B.A. (Honours) degree in Political Science.

He was enlisted into the Ghana Military Academy, Teshie for cadet training and was commissioned into the Admin Branch of the Ghana Air Force on 15th November 1975. AVM Dovlo served at almost all the Bases and Stations of the Air Force initially as:

a. Officer Commanding Personnel Services Flight (Nov 75 – Jul 79).
b. Officer Commanding Personnel Squadron (Jan 79 – Apr 81).
c. Personnel Staff Officer – AFHQ (Apr 81 – Jul 84).
d. Officer Commanding Admin Wing – AFB Acc (Aug 83 – Jul 84).
e. Organization Staff Officer – AFHQ (Jul 84 – Sept 84).
f. Senior Personnel Staff Officer – AFHQ (Sept 84 – Nov 88).
g. Director Administration at the Air Force Headquarters (Dec 92 – Sept 99).

AVM CEK Dovlo then served as the Defence Advisor at the Ghana High Commission, New Delhi, India from Sept 1999 to Jul 2003. On return to home establishment, he was appointed Air Secretary at the AFHQ. He later became the Director Resettlement at the General Headquarters of the Ghana Armed Forces. Until his present appointment as Commandant KAIPTC he was the Director General Personnel Administration at GHQ from June 2005 – May 2009.

During his career AVM Dovlo undertook some general and specialist courses including:

a. Ground Duty Officers Course (GDOC) – Air Force Academy.
b. Hyderabad, India (Jul 77 – Jul 78).
c. Junior Staff Course – GAFCSC (Jan – Apr 1981).
d. Senior Staff Course – GAFCSC (Sept 85 – Aug 86).
e. International Defence Management Course (DRMC).
f. Montery, California (Jan – Apr 1987).

He also attended the LECIA course in Negotiation Skills for Diplomats and various seminars on Human Resource Management. He is currently pursuing a post graduate programme towards an M.A. in International Affairs with LECIA (UG).

The Commandant served with UNIFIL HQ as an MIO from Nov 1988 to May 1989 and as a Military observer with UNPROFOR in the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from Dec 1993 to Dec 1994 including five months of duty in Sarajevo.

He is married to Beatrice (Aku) and they have four grown-up children. His hobbies include reading (will read anything interesting), Golf, basketball and socializing.
